QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

If you have a question, ask it HERE and we'll get you an answer soon!

WHO IS MRS. PICKLEBOTTOM?

Mrs. Pickletbottom is a lovely lady created by the Connelly family, who goes on amazing adventures, gets herself into trouble sometimes, and has amazing friends -- so she's kind of like you and me.

DID A KID REALLY WRITE THESE STORIES?

The Connelly family has been creating and telling "Mrs. Picklebottom"
stories
since our kids were in preschool. They began as silly bedtime
stories to help
our kids fall asleep when the train at the end of our
street blew its horn and
scared our kids in the night. We would create
stories together to help them fall asleep.
In the summer between

Charlotte's second and third grade years at our neighborhood public

school, she and her dad edited two of her favorite stories and made

up two new ones. So Ben helped, but for the most part Charlotte

really did develop the characters, plots, and stories in the first Mrs.

Picklebottom book. (Her mom and siblings helped too!)

WHO ILLUSTRATED THE BOOK?

The pictures in The Adventures of Mrs. Picklebottom were created by Gustiawan, a fantastic illustrator who lives in Indonesia. We connected with Gustiawan through fiverr.com, and he was a joy to work with. We recommend him if you're looking for whimsical children's illustrations and hope to work with him again if we get to write more Picklebottom books. You can learn more about Gus here.

DO THE AUTHORS OR ILLUSTRATOR SHOW UP IN THE BOOK?

Keen readers may have noticed members of the Connelly familyscattered throughout the book. And Gus may or may not have made an appearance in the fourth story as well. Some of these appearances were intentional; others were just for Gus' own fun. Maybe you'll be in a future story . . .

DO ANY OF THE CHARACTERS HAVE FAMILIES?

Lord and Lady Tomatotop have been happily married for over 20 years. Mrs. Picklebottom and Mr. Conductor are not married... And while all four of them really love kids of all ages (and puppies too, of course), none of them have kids -- at least not kids who still live at home.

WHY WAS MRS. PICKLEBOTTOM SAD IN ONE STORY?

The reason for her sadness has to remain a mystery to you for now, just like it did to Mr. Conductor. There's a reason, and it's truly sad, but it'll have to wait for another Mrs. Picklebottom book. In the meantime, the story isn't really about the reason she's sad. It's really about her good friends, who help Mrs. Picklebottom even when she feels sad.

WILL THERE BE MORE MRS. PICKLEBOTTOM ADVENTURES?

Mrs. Picklebottom and her friends have lots more excitement brewing, which they hope to share with you soon! Our family has lots of stories in various stages of development, so you can expect to experience some new fun before long. JOIN OUR EMAIL LIST FOR UPDATES!
